MILL VALLEY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Fat Chance is reviving its Slim Chance road bike frame for a limited edition run. The new frame will be built with U.S.-made True Temper OX Platinum tubing.
True Temper announced in May that it was exiting the bicycle tubing market at the end of the year. Fat Chance is taking orders for the new Slim Chance until Nov. 15, and will begin shipping the frames in January.
The original Slim Chance was introduced 25 years ago by Chris Chance, and it was one of the first high-end, TIG-welded, production steel road bikse built in the U.S. The new frame is built by hand using the same Slim Chance stock geometry. It will be available in four colors and four new fades paint options.
It is available with optional painted ENVE carbon stem and optional painted Silva Impero frame pump. Other options are choice of mechanical or electronic shifting, and choice of YO Road steel fork or ENVE 2.0 carbon fork.
Chris King headset and 36mm (1-1/8 inch) headtube are standard.
