Published April 19, 2016

RICHMOND, Calif. (BRAIN) — Ventana Mountain Bikes USA has released the Wolfram 27.5-plus model with a Pinion gearbox and Gates Carbon Drive belt.

The Wolfram 27.5+ is designed for aggressive trail riding with modern geometry, featuring a 67-degree head tube angle (with a 120mm trvel fork), short chainstays (419mm in shortest setting), long top tube, and compatibility with 120 to 140mm travel forks. It is one of the first U.S.-made bikes to feature the Pinion Gearbox. Complete bikes are spec'd with a 12-speed Pinion gearbox, but 9- and 18-speed options are available upon request.

"Ventana has a long history of offering internal gearing on mountain bikes. We started out using Rohloff hubs many years ago, and with the release of Pinion in the U.S., we continue to innovate and provide the most reliable trail bikes around," said Sherwood Gibson, the founder of Ventana.

The Wolfram 27.5+ is also available with the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 and in derailleur-compatible versions. The Rohloff versions accommodate Rohloff's original 10x135mm hubs or the brand's new 12x142mm SPEEDHUB A12 model. Derailleur versions will be built with 12x148mm Boost spacing.

Cycle Monkey will be offering versions of the Wolfram and other Ventana models with Pinion and Rohloff SPEEDHUBs as full bicycle packages, staring at $6,500 for Pinion and $6,040 for Rohloff.
