Yuba offers its first offroad cargo bike, the Boda Boda Macho

Published March 23, 2016

PETALUMA, Calif. (BRAIN) — Yuba's new Boda Boda Macho is designed for carrying cargo, including kids, on rugged trails.

The Macho is spec'd with WTB All-Terrain Sport 26 x 1.95 wheels, a 2x10 drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes and an all-aluminum frame. It's built around the Boda Boda chassis, and includes a side stand, wheel skirts and the standard Yuba cargo rack allowing riders to carry 220 pounds of cargo, including the option for an additional adult passenger or two children.

“We are excited to expand on our already popular Boda Boda model with the addition of the Boda Boda Macho, opening our brand up to a completely new segment of riders from our current lineup of cargo bikes,” said Benjamin Sarrazin, the CEO and founder of Yuba Bicycles. “Yuba’s passion has always been to encourage consumers’ use of cargo bikes as an everyday mode of transportation, and this expansion into the recreational mountain bike space is a natural next step.”

The Macho will initially be released in the New York City, Denver, San Francisco and Portland markets at an MSRP of $1,999. The launch follows the 2015 release of the Spicy Curry, Yuba’s electric-assist bike.

Yuba is currently participating in the six-month, six-city Electric Bike Expo tour across the United States, allowing bicycle dealers and enthusiasts to test ride a selection of electric bikes in the all-new Cargo Bike Experience outdoor circuit — a closed-loop track featuring specialized terrain to emphasize the hill-climbing capabilities and the nimble abilities of electric bikes that emulate the feel of a traditional bicycle. Upcoming stops include Palo Alto California, (April 22-24), Portland, Oregon (May 20-22), and Denver in June.
