BOSTON (BRAIN) — Delta Cycle Corp. is introducing a new set of locking wheel skewers, called KnoxNut, that replace standard QR skewers and deter wheel thieves. The KnoxNuts also are available to work with solid axles on single speed, fixed gear or internal gear bikes.
The KnoxNuts use a special key to allow removal. A free floating ring protects the nut to prevent removal without the key.
All keys are engraved with a unique serial number and replacement keys will be sold only to consumers who have registered the number with Delta.
The KnoxNut was introduced at Interbike; Delta has recently received its first shipment via air freight and is now delivering them to retailers.
The skewer set and key have an MSRP of $39.99. Nuts for use with solid axles are available in M9, M10 or 3/8-inch and retail for $29.99.
