NEW YORK (BRAIN) — Martone Cycling Co. is now offering a collapsible helmet design developed for fashion-conscious urban riders.
"I wanted to create a stylish compact counterpart to the original MCC helmets, a design that remained sleek and elevated, without the bulkiness and extra weight," said the company's founder and designer, Lorenzo Martone.
Martone consulted with the helmet maker Overade, to execute his vision. The helmets are available in black and white with red accents, MCC's distinct color palette, and come in two sizes. They fold into a compact size of 8 1⁄4 x 4 1/3 x 6 1⁄4-inches allowing style-conscious city riders to conceal the item within their bag or satchel. The helmet has an ABS Hardshell exterior and an EPS interior, 14 vents, adjustable straps and chin strap cover for customizable fit and comfort.
Each helmet comes with accessories including: a detachable visor; a removable helmet "rain cape," and a double-lined microfiber pouch to protect the helmet when it's folded and not in use. All accessories are imprinted with the MCC logo in the brand's trademark red hue.
The helmets will be available on Martone Cycling's website and via speciality bike stores, retailing for about $195.
