INDIANAPOLIS (BRAIN) — Zipp Speed Weaponry has expanded its accessory lineup to include a new disc brake rotor protector, new valve extenders, an inner tube with aluminum valve stems, and new aluminum and carbon fiber bottle cages.
The Rotor Protector is a neoprene cover intended to protect rotors against water and grease during transit or storage. The cover has a reinforcing gussit and closes with a drawstring, It will be available in 140mm and 160mm sizes in January, retailing for $20.
Other new products include Tangente Valve extenders, for use with deep-section rims with removable valve core Presta tubes. The extenders have a 3mm hex broach to tighten for a complete seal. They will be available in February, sold in three lengths as a kit of three valves and two wreches, or individually. Zipp also will offer a set of valve extenders for tubes with non-removable Presta valves, and a set of extenders made by Silca that have a gasket to reduce rattling.
The new Tangente butyl tube has a lightweight aluminum valve body with a removable core, 37mm in length. It's designed for use with the Tangente Aluminum Knurled valve extender. The tube is 0.85 mm thick, weighs 72 grams in the 700x20-28 size and 96 grams in the 700x28-32 size. The tubes will be available in January and retail for $10.
Finally, Zipp is expanding its water bottle cage line with two new models that are available now. The new SL Speed Carbon bottle cage will be available in white or red, weighing 18 grams and retailing for $75. The new Alumina bottle cage works for side or direct bottle entry, has a silver aluminum finish and weighs 27 grams. The Alumina retails for $35.
