Published November 20, 2014

OXNARD, Calif. (BRAIN) — Galfer, a supplier to the motorcycle industry and to OEMs in the bike industry, is now making its disc brake pads and rotors available in the U.S. aftermarket. The company offers a wide range of pads to fit most brakes on the market, as well as four sizes of stainless steel brake rotors.

Galfer is based in Spain and has an office, warehouse and manufacturing facility in California, as well. All its bicycle brake pads and rotors are made in Spain.

Its pads are available in two models: Standard and Pro and Advanced. Standard is best for most general use and is quiet and durable. The Pro is better for downhill use and extreme conditions including wet and muddy conditions.

Galfer has pad SKUs for dozens of brake models, including brakes from Avid, Formula, Hayes, Hope, Magura, Promax, Shimano, SRAM and Tektro. The Standard pads retail for $16; the Pro retail for $30.

Galfer's stainless steel "Wave" rotors are available in 140, 160, 180 and 203 mm diameters. They mount to the six-hole standard and retail from $30 to $34 depending on size. Each rotor is laser cut and double-disc ground, and the company said they are quiet, durable and powerful. Weights range from 79 to 140 grams depending on rotor size.

Galfer pads and rotors are available from BTI.
