Xentis offers hand-made Austrian carbon wheels

Published August 7, 2014

CHICAGO (BRAIN) — Xentis-USA is now offering the complete line of Xentis carbon wheels in the U.S. The wheels are hand-made in Austria and are available to U.S. dealers from the Xentis-USA distribution center near Chicago.

The full range includes road and mountain bike wheels, with rim depths from 25 to 75 mmm. The mountain wheels are offered in 26-inch, 29-inch and 27.5-inch.

The Xentis road wheels feature a special brake surface. After the laminating process Xentis machines off off the top layer of resin on the brake surface to expose the fibers. The company claims this makes a durable surface with good braking performance in all conditions and which does not require special brake pads. Xentis wheels also have magnets embedded into the carbon for use with bike computers, eliminating the need for spoke magnets. Wheels also have an embedded RFID chip for traceability.

In addition to Xentis' metal-spoked wheels, the brand offers a 26inch monocoque four-spoke mountain bike wheel and a five-spoke aero all-carbon road wheel that is  popular with triathletes.

At Eurobike, Xentis will introduced a new road wheel with a 25 mm-deep rim and a full carbon hub. The wheelset will weight less than 900 grams.
