SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (BRAIN) — Challenge is releasing a Team Edition version of its Chicane cyclocross tubular, with a 320 tpi cotton casing.
Last season Challenge offered its Grifo and Limus tubulars with the supple casing, but the Team Edition Chicane is new for this year.
The Chicane is a mixed-condition tire, with a diamond tread in the center combined with aggressive side knobs for cornering traction. The standard Chicane was Challenge's top selling 'cross tire in the U.S. last season.
The new Team Edition has a seamless latex tube, a presta valve with removable core and a PPS puncture protection belt. Recommended pressire is 23-44 psi. The cotton casing is sealed with a light layer of latex for durability in wet conditions, although for best tire life Challenge recommends riders avoid using dry-conditions Team Edition tires in wet conditions.
Challenge tires are available from the following U.S. distributors: Euro Asia Imports, Hawley, Hoss Active Sports Group, KHS Bicycles, Ochsner, Quality Bicycle Products, and Security Bicycle Accessories.
