BAAL, Belgium (BRAIN) — Trek unveiled a new line of cyclocross bikes that feature the company's IsoSpeed decoupler, previously used on its Domane endurance road bikes. The decoupler isolates the seattube from the toptube to increase comfort. The unveiling was done with Trek-sponsored athletes including Katie Compton, and world champion Sven Nys in Baal, Belgium.
The new 'cross bike is called the Boone.
Trek said the design was underway with input from Compton before the company agreed to sponsor Nys. The decoupler was designed to allow shouldering the bike and the frame includes a new internal battery mount for electonic drivetrains and an integrated chain keeper.
The Boone comes in three models with cantilever and disc brake options. It will also be available as a frameset in both cantilever and disc brake options.
