BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Co-authors Dr. Allen Lim and chef Biju Thomas have teamed up again to offer a follow-up to their Feed Zone Cookbook. Their new book, Feed Zone Portables, offers 75 recipes for portable food for cyclists and other endurance athletes tired of bars and gels.
In his introduction Lim makes the case for real food as a more easily digestible, higher-performance source of energy than prepackaged fuel products. He shows how much athletes really need to eat and drink at different exercise intensities and in cold or hot weather.
The book contains 50 gluten-free recipes and more than 50 vegetarian recipes.
The book also contains forewords by pro racers Taylor Phinney and Tim Johnson
The 228-page hardcover retails for $24.95.
