Showers Pass' Refuge jacket

Published February 21, 2013

PORTLAND, OR (BRAIN) — Showers Pass' Refuge jacket is designed for outdoor use, making it appropriate for bike commuting, mountain biking or crossover outdoor sports such as skiing and mountaineering.

The Refuge Jacket features Elite three-layer performance fabric and is fully seam-taped for rain protection. Waterproof and breathable, the Refuge also includes practical detailing such as extra-long core vents, reinforced shoulders for backpack strap protection, water-resistant Aquaguard Vision zippers, 360-degree 3M Scotchlite reflective trim and two light loops.

A removable, adjustable hood is large enough to cover a helmet, and stows in a jacket pocket during better weather. A drop-down waterproof tail protects against tire and road spray and keeps skiers and snowboarders dry on chairlifts. The jacket includes two front handwarmer pockets, a back pocket and chest pocket with audio port.

It is available in two colors, Cayenne and Graphite, and men’s SM-XL sizing.

“This is easily our most do-anything, go-anywhere jacket design to date,” said Kyle Ranson, president, Showers Pass. “We’re well known for combining high performance rain protective fabrics with clever, functional details, but with the Refuge we wanted to create a jacket that wears incredibly well whether you’re on a bike seat, a ski trail or at a game when the weather takes a turn for the worst.”

MSRP: $279, available in May.
