(VELO) — The Belgian Competition Authority has handed SRAM a win in its dispute with the UCI over a new road-racing rule that would have made some SRAM drivetrains illegal in competition.
The BCA has suspended a technical standard adopted by the UCI that would have limited the maximum gear ratio allowed in professional road cycling events to a transmission ratio of 54×11.
SRAM had filed a formal complaint with the BCA disputing the UCI's rule and the BCA initiated formal anti-trust proceedings under EU and Belgian competition laws last month.
