Published December 21, 2015

TALAMONA, Italy (BRAIN) — Italian helmet brand MET is auctioning two special edition MET RIVALE helmets signed by pro racers Steve Cummings and Daniel Teklehaimanot.

Auction proceeds will be donated to the Qhubeka charity, which is World Bicycle Relief's program in South Africa. Both auctions end on Dec. 25.

The Cummings helmet commemorates his win of the 14th stage of the 2015 Tour de France, the first Tour stage win by a member of an Africa-registered team. Teklehaimanot's helmet marks his achievement as the first African cyclist to take the lead in the Tour's mountains classification.

Both helmets went on auction on Ebay starting Dec. 19.

The auction's goal is to help Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung reach their goal to fund the last 98 bicycles of their "BicyclesChangeLives" project, which seeks to fund bicycles for 5,000 school children in Africa.
