Published November 2, 2015

TAIPEI, Taiwan (BRAIN) — Organizers in Taiwan are encouraging members of the bike industry and bike advocacy community to combine trips to next year's Velo-City Global conference and the Taipei Cycle Show. Velo-City, a major annual international meeting organized by the European Cyclists' Foundation, is planned for Feb. 27-March 1, 2016. Taipei Cycle Show is March 2-5.

“We have the ambition to become a cycling city," Taipei transportation commissioner Chung Hui-Yu said. "The city of Taipei is proud to host Velo-City Global and showcase the big success of our YouBike bicycle rental system, new investments in infrastructure and, of course, the vibrant bicycle industry which supports our efforts.”

The Velo-City meeting includes 28 parallel sessions covering all aspects of cycling. The last two days of the conference, right before the Taipei Cycle Show, will be focused on the role of the industry in the development of cycling, with keynote speakers including Giant Bicycle CEO Tony Lo and Trek CEO John Burke.

Registrants for Velo-City Global are also given access to the trade show. Early bird registration is available for Velo-City until Nov. 30.
