Eurobike show plans media event for June

Published November 20, 2014

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN) — Organizers of the Eurobike trade show are planning a pre-show event for the cycling media, to be held June 30-July 2 in Kirchberg, Austria.

While the main show is planned for August 26-29 in Friedrichshafen, the "Eurobike Media Days" event will give the press a heads up on new products and services.

"We want to offer the cycling industry and media representatives another platform long before the actual exhibition date in order to present to an exclusive group of media representatives," said Klaus Wellmann, CEO of the Messe Friedrichshafen, the facility that hosts Eurobike.

Eurobike has added a new employee, Christina Kulling, as project coordinator for the media event. Kulling comes from Specialized, where she was responsible for the organization of European dealer events over the last four years.

The event's organizers noted that many medium-sized and large bike manufacturers already invite the media to events prior to the annual show, but that journalists find they are unable to attend all of them and they are expensive for the suppliers.

The location is in the Tyrol region of Austria, which promises an idyllic mountain setting.

The Eurobike Media Days appear to be inspired by the similar event in the U.S., PressCamp, which will be held in Utah June 22-26 next year.
