BRUSSELS, Belgium (BRAIN) — The European Two-Wheeler Parts and Accessories Industry Association (COLIPED) recently elected a new president and vice president at its general assembly. Jan Willem ten Dam, CEO of Ryde International, assumes the role of president and Erhard Büchel is now vice president.
Ten Dam was COLIPED’s vice president since 2006 and succeeds Moreno Fioravanti.
“Strengthening the position of the European bicycle parts and accessories industry is a challenging goal,” said ten Dam in a statement. “I’m truly honored by COLIPED’s confidence in me and I am committed to put my experience in the sector at the service of the European association and its members.”
Ryde International supplies manufacturers worldwide with mid- and high-end rims and wheels.
Büchel is CEO of Büchel GmbH & Co., a family-owned company founded in 1920 and one of the biggest German bike component producers. It has five offices in Germany and three production facilities in China.
“My contribution to COLIPED will be to fight for fair trade between Europe and the emerging markets, especially East Asia; to help strengthen the cooperation in the European bicycle sector and to help to promote innovation and to assimilate the still existing different European standards in certain fields of the bicycle industry,” said Büchel.
