TORONTO, Ontario (BRAIN) — Cervélo co-founder Phil White is taking a larger role within the Pon Bicycle Group, the bike division of Pon Holdings, which bought Cervélo a little over a year ago.
White, who has been CEO of Cervélo, has been named chairman of Cervélo and Innovation Officer for the Pon Bicycle Group, which includes Cervélo, Gazelle and Union Bicycles, as well as Derby Cycle's bike brands (Focus, Kalkhoff, Rixe, Univega and Raleigh).
“This is a perfect role to allow Phil to apply his deep and proven design and innovation knowledge on a broader scale to support the entire Pon Bicycle Group,” said Xeno Grimmelt, PBG's senior vice president.
“Pon Bicycle Group has an ambitious design and product development agenda over the next few years and we’re delighted Phil is going to be a part of this tremendous opportunity.”
While the company searches for a new CEO to succeed White, Robert Reijers, PBG's business development manager will be the acting managing director of Cervélo.
