NUNSPEET, Netherlands (BRAIN) — Effective january 1, Matthias Reinacher will become managing director of Pearl Izumi Europe, the company announced Monday. Reinacher is currently the senior brand manager of the Shimano-owned company.
Reinacher is replacing Juergen Sprich, who is becoming a partner in the Swiss cycling brand Cuore.
Juergen Eckmann, Pearl Izumi's president, said Sprich had recently told Shimano and Pearl Izumi executives that he "was looking for a new challenge outside the company."
Eckmann said in the next year Shimano will centralize its European operations for Shimano softgoods and Pearl Izumi, and Pearl Izumi Europe will represent both brands there.
