SALT LAKE CITY (BRAIN) — Scott Sports USA has unveiled its click-and-collect sales channel integrated with Locally that will include participating dealers across the continental U.S.
According to Scott, it had a successful beta rollout in January in Utah, California, Florida, Texas, and New York. The channel allows customers to browse and purchase Scott bikes online and pick them up at the local bike retailer of their choice. Locally gives them the option to browse retailer stock levels and contact stores directly.
Rob Aguero, Scott Sports' USA sales director, said Scott determines the margin to their retailers, "which is competitive in the marketplace," and said the brand will make payments by check to retailers once per quarter.
"We believe that local bike dealers play a crucial role in the cycling community and are key to customers having the best possible bike buying experience," Aguero said. "By expanding our click-and-collect and Locally initiatives, we are not only making it easier for customers to access our products, but also ensuring that they have a trusted local dealer to support them long after their purchase."
Scott said it will standardize the MSRP across online and in-store purchases and cover the build costs for customers picking up bikes at participating dealers.
Its full bike portfolio is available through the channel, with no special stock excluded. With Locally, customers can browse a shop's stock for a selected bike after clicking on the model on Scott's U.S. website. Where the "Add to Cart" button would be for other products, it shows "Check Stock In Store" and shows the nearest bike shops. Clicking this button opens a popup and shows current stock, out of stock, or to call for availability.
Scott said it will not silo/isolate inventory specifically for click-and-collect or for retailers. If the website shows a product is available, it is also available for the retailer to see via the brand's retailer B2B portal.
For sizing questions, the website has a fit calculator and also offers a chat and phone option to communicate with a Scott representative.
