(BRAIN) — Larry Pizzi is joining Pedego as its chief executive officer. The long-time e-bike industry member most recently was general manager and chief commercial officer of Alta Cycling Group.
Pizzi will succeed Brian Stech. The company also announced that Cliff Moskowitz will be joining its board of directors.
Pizzi spent over seven years with Accell North America before its transition to Alta Cycling Group in 2019. Before that, Pizzi spent nearly a decade at Currie Tech Corporation as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to joining Currie Tech Corporation Pizzi served as senior vice president and general manager of the bicycle division at Schwinn and GT and held senior sales and marketing management positions at Brunswick Bicycle Division, the former owner of Mongoose Bicycles. Additionally, he held sales management roles at Bell Sports, Service Cycle Corporation, and Derby Cycle Corporation.
From 1978 to 1990, Pizzi owned and operated Bike Tech Stores, a chain of specialty bicycle shops in Philadelphia and served as a director on the board of the National Bicycle Dealers Association, further demonstrating his dedication to the cycling industry.
“Larry is an excellent leader and I have tremendous confidence in his ability to guide the company, build on our foundation, and continue to execute on our growth strategy,” said Stech. “I am leaving Pedego in the hands of a talented team who have my full support and I look forward to seeing the amazing things the team will accomplish in the years to come.”
Pizzi said, “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead Pedego as the electric bike and micromobility space is expected to see significant growth for many years to come. Pedego is a powerful brand focused on delivering premium quality electric bikes for its riders. This is an exciting time to join the company and help scale the business to ensure we are the best e-bike brand across North America and globally. I look forward to working with leadership, the board, and Pedego partner Verlinvest, to continue strengthening our business.”
The company said that under Pizzi’s leadership, "Pedego will reinforce its broader growth strategy and look to accelerate new Pedego Dealer openings across North America."
