Industry veteran Spinhirne-Martin buys Capo Cycling Apparel

Published May 5, 2023

DENVER (BRAIN) — Capo Cycling Apparel has been acquired by industry veteran Zach Spinhirne-Martin from its founders, Robert Carbone and Gary Vasconi.

Capo, founded in 2004, is a U.S.-based brand that sells Italian-made apparel.

“I am very excited to take over this incredible brand and work to grow it into the future. It has always been one of my favorite brands, with performance-driven technical designs and amazing handmade quality,” said Spinhirne-Martin. “The Capo brand is known for high quality and Italian passion in its designs. I can’t wait to design and develop products I as a rider want to use for years to come.”

Spinhirne-Martin has 20 years of experience in the industry, including merchandising roles at CompetitiveCyclist and Backcountry, developing the online bike platform for Walmart e-commerce, and more recently working as the director of purchasing for Spot Bicycles.

Vasconi said “I want to thank our families, friends, and customers for their support over our 21-year run at Capo Cycling Apparel.  Rob and I are excited to transition the business to Zach based on his passion for the sport and his knowledge of the brand.  Zach has been a customer of Capo Cycling Apparel for over 15 years and knows the brand inside out. In my opinion, there’s no better individual to elevate the brand and take it to the next level. I wish Zach and his team much success in their new endeavor!"
