SSU's Vitus brand now available in the US online

Published December 6, 2022

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (BRAIN) — Vitus, the bike brand owned by Signa Sports United, is now available directly to U.S. consumers via a dedicated website and a Utah distribution center.

SSU announced last week that its Nukeproof brand is now available in the U.S. Unlike Nukeproof, which is being sold through independent bicycle retailers as well as consumer-direct online, Vitus will be available exclusively online in the U.S.

Vitus will initially stock about 14 models in the U.S., including road, gravel, mountain and youth bikes. It will stock at least one e-bike, a $5,400 enduro model.

"When I look at the Vitus line of bikes, I get giddy. Being able to offer this initial lineup directly to U.S. riders is a tremendous opportunity," said Brad Howell, the U.S. brand manager for Vitus Bikes. "From privateer racers to weekend enthusiasts, Vitus offers something for everyone in the worlds of road, mountain, and gravel riding; we even have a killer kids' line. If riding bikes fills your cup and spreads a smile across your face, then Vitus is for you!"

Vitus is a nearly 100-year-old brand and is well known in the U.S. for its aluminum and carbon road and cyclocross bikes from the 1980s and 1990s. In Europe the brand has long offered a complete bike line. The brand hasn't had U.S. distribution for several years, but some U.S. consumers have bought Vitus bikes online from Europe, via SSU's WiggleCRC e-commerce site or other sites.

Vitus said now, bikes for the U.S. market will be in inventory in Salt Lake City and arrive to riders in fully recyclable cardboard boxes with zero-waste packaging. Vitus offers a 30-day ride guarantee and a U.S.-based customer service team.

The company plans to expand its selection of bike models throughout 2023. More information: us.vitusbikes.com.
