BROOMFIELD, Colo. (BRAIN) — QBP opened a larger and more energy efficient distribution center here that increases inventory capacity by more than 30% compared with its previous facility.
The new center is 96,145 square feet. Similar to distribution centers in Minnesota, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, it's built to environmentally friendly LEED principles established by the U.S. Green Building Council, QBP said. The Colorado center eventually will be solar powered.
"The new Colorado DC will handle our continued growth and future demand from retailers while also helping us reach our goal of carbon neutrality by 2030," said Rich Tauer, QBP president.
QBP offers retailers more than 44,000 products from 450 brands via its distribution centers, which also are located in Toronto, Vancouver, and Taiwan. QBP employs about 50 people at its new Colorado facility and more than 800 worldwide.
