QBP reveals new logo and rebranding

Published October 29, 2020

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (BRAIN) — Quality Bicycle Products said its rebranding, revealed Thursday on its website and other communications, is more than just a new logo. The company said it has updated its purpose statement and that its partners, both retailers and suppliers, will see a new push "reflecting a commitment to grow together."

The updated purpose statement is, "Advancing bike communities and our industry so everyone can win." (The previous purpose statement was: "Advance Bikekind and have retailers thrive.")

"As a company, Q is a common thread that weaves together the entire industry, including retailers, suppliers, communities, employees and riders," said Rich Tauer, the president of Q. "Everything we do is grounded within our partners' interest and motivations. That is as true today as it was when Steve Flagg and Mary Henrickson founded the company in 1981."

The company is now showing off its new logo and refreshed design and colors across its materials. The logo replaces one that has been in use for about 14 years.

Over the years, the distributor's name has continually grown shorter in industry conversation: From "Quality Bicycle Products," to "Quality," to "QBP," and now, as Tauer's statement reveals, to simply "Q."

"Many, many of our partners have referred to us as “Q” for many years. Often it’s our strongest partners," a spokesman said. "We are acknowledging that by incorporating it into our communications. It’s also reflected in the logo," he said.
