'DocB' departs PeopleForBikes

Published January 28, 2020

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Jennifer Boldry, known as "Doc B" to industry friends, is leaving PeopleForBikes to rejoin NAXION, a market research consultancy.

Boldry, PeopleForBikes' industry research leader, will leave the organzation in early February. She worked for NAXION from 2005-2010, before joining Leisure Trends, which was later acquired by The NPD Group. She joined PeopleForBikes in 2016.

At PFB, Boldry helped the PlacesForBikes program team develop new measurement tools that encourage U.S. communities to build better bike networks faster, including the Bicycle Network Analysis and a data-driven City Ratings program. Both the BNA and City Ratings program have evaluated more than 500 U.S. cities while also attracting international interest.

Boldry led the launch of the PeopleForBikes U.S. Bicycle Participation study, the first nationwide study to measure both transportation and recreation bicycling. It has been conducted three times in the last six years. Working in partnership with Stages Cycling's Bernie Doering, Boldry also helped establish the PeopleForBikes Research and Statistics subcommittee that is focused on improving market intelligence for the bicycle industry.

"Doc B has boosted PeopleForBikes and the bike industry in so many ways," said PeopleForBikes' president, Tim Blumenthal. "She has developed powerful tools that show the benefits of better bike networks and help our industry better understand sales and participation trends. We hope to continue to draw on her one-of-a-kind expertise as she begins her exciting new role at NAXION."

Boldry said, "I am so grateful to Tim Blumenthal and the entire PeopleForBikes team for what has been one of the best chapters of my career," said Boldry. "I look forward to continuing my work with PeopleForBikes as an external consultant and serving bike industry companies through retail and consumer insights research."
