QBP to be service partner.

MUNICH (BRAIN) — German e-bike drive system manufacturer Fazua officially entered the North American market Thursday. Fazua also announced that QBP will be Fazua's external service partner and official supplier of parts.

Fazua also announced Trek as its newest OEM partner, joining Pinarello, Look, Fantic Bicycles, Bulls Bikes, Budnitz, Cairn Cycles and Cube Bikes.

Trek will spec' its new eDomane+ with the Fazua Evation mid-mounted drive system. The 250Wh Evation weighs 10.1 pounds, and Fazua says the system has no resistance when riding without assistance.

"The start of sales in the U.S. and Canada is an important milestone," said Fazua CEO Fabian Reuter in a news release. "The team has done everything in its power to carry Fazua's hallmark beyond the borders of Europe. Not at least the excellent cooperation with customers and partners makes it possible to excite more and more people in these markets with a new e-bike category."

QBP will train dealers to become certified Fazua service partners. In addition, service partners will conduct industry events and online Fazua seminars.

"Fazua is an innovative company that is redefining the boundaries of e-bike design," said Joe Benedict, QBP's director of product distribution. "The e-bike market is a rapidly developing segment within the bicycle industry and a real opportunity for the future."

Battery certification delays slowed Fazua's entry into the U.S. market. Fazua, which has manufactured e-bike motors since 2013, had to redesign the internals of its battery to gain U.S. certification. The company has had an 80% marketshare in Europe on electric road and gravel bikes.

"Fazua is very fortunate to have QBP as a service partner for the North American market," said Fazua's head of service, Oliver Piesch. "Thanks to many years of experience and a pronounced service mentality, QBP is a perfect solution for us and our customers."
