SQUAMISH, British Columbia (BRAIN) — Canada-based mountain bike website Pinkbike has acquired the road cycling website CyclingTips.com from BikeExchange.

Pinkbike, founded by Radek Burkat in 1998, claims more than 3 million unique visitors every month.

Burkat said, "We are excited to commit the talents and resources we have at Pinkbike and Trailforks to allow the CyclingTips team to grow and be the leader in road cycling."

The acquisition of CyclingTips closed Friday. PinkBike said CyclingTips' current staff, including founder and general manager Wade Wallace, will remain a part of the team.

Wallace said, "We are thrilled that CyclingTips has come together with the Pinkbike family. We are confident that this partnership will result in a better product for our readers, members and industry partners."

CyclingTips was founded in 2008 in Australia. CyclingTips merged with BikeExchange, an online marketplace, in 2015. It began U.S. coverage soon after, with editorial staff based in Boulder, Colorado.
