Catrike adds wheel assembly line to Florida factory

Published June 12, 2018

ORLANDO, Fla. (BRAIN) — Recumbent trike manufacturer Catrike recently expanded its Orlando facility with the addition of a new wheel assembly line.

"We are constantly working to improve our production systems and processes," Catrike general manager Mark Egeland. "The new wheel assembly line is an important part of meeting increased production demands, balancing workflows, optimizing production and assuring the best quality possible."

Consisting of a Holland Mechanics Wheel Line, the wheel building assembly line features intelligent lacing with automatic changeover along with a tightening and truing robot with integrated de-winding and stabilization.

The addition of the Holland Mechanics Wheel Line is aimed at helping Catrike achieve growth targets. Revenue rose 23 percent last year, Catrike stated, and the company was named to Inc. Magazine's annual list of the nation's fastest-growing private companies for a second consecutive year. Catrike also expanded during its 2017 fiscal year with new sales offices and staff at the Orlando facility.

Catrike recumbent trikes are sold exclusively through IBDs, with a network of more than 200 dealers worldwide.
