Raleigh donates bike fleets to Trips for Kids

Published September 1, 2015

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (BRAIN) — Raleigh USA is providing a fleet of bikes to Trips for Kids International for the second year in a row.

Last year Raleigh USA, a division of Accell North America, donated enough bikes to supply 10 new TFK chapters. Raleigh's support helps TFK International expand its reach across North America and worldwide providing mountain bike outings for underserved, low income and at-risk youth. Last year, TFK helped five communities open chapters, and so far in 2015 TFK has opened six and is in the process of potentially starting three more.

"One of the greatest challenges facing our National Program chapters when they first get started is securing a safe and functional bike fleet," said Marilyn Price, founding director of Trips for Kids. "Many thanks to Raleigh for continuing to provide these vital bike fleets for our new fledgling chapters and for helping Trips for Kids put more kids on bikes across the country."

Tabi Adkins, marketing manager for Raleigh, said, "Raleigh's guiding principles are to make cycling fun, enable more access to all, and to inspire a great start on a bicycle — all of which come to fruition with Trips for Kids and their mission to provide transformative cycling experiences for all children regardless of their life circumstances ... We are privileged to be part of the Trips for Kids community through our National Program sponsorship."

Raleigh is one of more than 100 bicycle companies supporting Trips for Kids through product donations and financial contributions. For a complete list of industry sponsors go to www.tripsforkids.org/national/sponsors.htm.
