Red Kite Prayer adds two

Published March 14, 2013

LOS ANGELES, CA (BRAIN) — Cycling website RedKitePrayer.com has added two new members to its team.  Wayne Thompson has taken the role of advertising sales director. Thompson is the former owner of Kind Bicycles and prior to that was an executive with Pacific Cycle. Thompson has already been instrumental in negotiating both renewals and new business said RKP publisher Patrick Brady.

“Wayne is just what I was looking for to head up our advertising sales. He’s warm, exceedingly outgoing, a cyclist through-and-through, not to mention driven and effective. He’s going to be instrumental in our efforts to build relationships with brands that haven’t known us until now,” Brady said.

Brady also welcomed a new addition to his family, a boy named Matthew Julian, born at 9:01 pm on February 22. In honor of his birthday, his parents nicknamed him “The Deuce.” The a 7-pound, 6-ounce boy is currently in Downey Medical Center’s neonatal ICU due to fluid in his chest, a condition known as chylothorax effusion. Brady has been writing about the experience and their challenges in a series of posts on Red Kite Prayer called “Enter the Deuce.”

“He’s improving by the day; we had hoped to bring him home in time for Saint Patrick’s Day, but we’re going to have to wait a little longer. So long as he avoids surgery, we’re good. The outpouring of support on Facebook and in the comments to my posts has been tremendous; I’m really grateful for all the kindness the cycling community has shown,” Brady said.
