Published January 17, 2013

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Bell Helmets is partnering with IMBA to launch a program that will offer $100,000 in grants to build mountain bike trails in 2013 and 2014.

Bell will award three technical assistance grants, allowing IMBA’s Trail Solutions team of professional trail builders to help grant recipients design and build either pump tracks, flow/all-mountain trails or downhill/gravity trails.

Applications for the grants can be downloaded from IMBA (.pdf). They applications must be submitted by Feb. 8. IMBA and Bell will review all applications and select four finalists for each category of trail project.

On March 5, the 12 finalists will have their stories told on the Bell Helmets Facebook page and fans will vote for their favorite projects within each category. Bell and IMBA will announce the final three winners at the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, California, on April 19.
