HELSINKI (BRAIN) — Sales in Amer Sports' cycling division, comprising the Mavic and Enve brands, were down 12 percent in local currencies in the first quarter, to 32.1 million euros ($38.9 million). The company said its cycling sales were "adversely impacted by lower OEM orders."
OSAKA, Japan (BRAIN) — Shimano said a mild economic expansion in Europe, a buoyant labor market in North America, and a moderate recovery in Japan contributed to a 5.1 percent net sales increase in its bicycle division in the opening quarter of 2018, compared to the same period last year.

MONTREAL (BRAIN) — Dorel reported 0.6 percent growth in fourth-quarter revenue at its bike division, which includes Cannondale, Sugoi, GT, Schwinn, Mongoose and Caloi. However, full-year revenue declined 7.8 percent.
OLATHE, Kan. (BRAIN) — Garmin reported Wednesday that fourth-quarter revenue rose 3 percent to $888 million driven by sales of outdoor, marine and aviation products. Revenue for the full fiscal year totaled $3.09 billion, up 2 percent.
OSAKA, Japan (BRAIN) — Shimano saw a 4 percent increase in net sales in its bicycle division last year, while operating income in the segment was nearly flat, down 0.8 percent, the company announced Tuesday.

PITTSBURGH, Penn. (BRAIN) — Dick's Sporting Goods has posted its sales and earnings for the third quarter of 2017, which ended Oct. 28. The company's net income for the quarter was $36.9 million or 35 cents per share, exceeding expectations of 22 to 30 cents per share.
