The Tour du Rouge is a 515 mile, six-day ride along the Gulf Coast, from Houston to New Orleans benefiting the local Red Cross chapters in this area in effort to raise awareness of disaster preparedness given hurricanes Ike, Gustav and especially Katrina. Originally scheduled for Oct. 17 – 23, 2008, the ride was postponed in the aftermath of Hurricanes Ike and Gustav and the incredible destruction they caused to the Gulf Coast which the Red Cross took tremendous response to aiding those in need.
