USXC Open series adds two more rounds and U23 titles to its 2025 series

November 1st, Orange County, California - The USXC Open, presented by Orange Seal, will add two rounds and U23 men’s and women’s races to the series title chase in 2025. With a focus on developmental cross-country races in the United States, the USXC Open will crown ten different champions in 2025, including Elite’s, U23, JR 17-18, JR 15-16, and JR 13-14 men and women’s divisions.

“Since my early involvement with the National cross-country series in 2009, I’ve seen an inspiring shift in our audience, with junior fields now leading the way,” says US Pro Cup Director Ty Kady. “Recognizing this growing interest, we wanted to create a series that truly celebrates the talent and commitment of Junior, U23, and Elite riders. The USXC Open is dedicated to giving these young athletes the recognition and support they need to achieve their milestones in this sport we love, with a focus on tracking their progress and rewarding achievements. We’re excited to move forward with this vision in 2025 and provide a platform that empowers the next generation of cross-country racers.”

Seeing value in the series focus, Orange Seal has become the presenting sponsor of the USXC Open for 2025. Orange Seal has a long history of supporting multiple cycling disciplines and is a much-welcomed partner to the USXC Open series. With its Orange Seal Academy program and sealant products, partnering with the US Pro Cup was an easy decision.

"I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Ty since 2014 and have seen, both firsthand and behind the scenes, his dedication to developing youth talent and building an infrastructure that allows athletes of all ages to earn valuable points and improve their global standing," says John Vargus, President of Orange Seal, Inc. "Entering the World Cup racing environment is no easy feat, especially with the new regulations for 2025. Through the USXC Open, we are building the next generation of champions, and I’m thrilled to be part of this initiative for 2025."

The USXC Open also adds two new stops, Utah and Washington state. Utah will host the series finals at the Soldier Hollow venue, while Washougal, Washington, will be stop #4. This is the first time a USA Cycling-sanctioned MTB race has graced the venue in nearly 30 years.

“I’m excited both venues have come onboard with us. Utah has a large rider demographic, and the Soldier Hollow venue is already a well-known stop. Maybe even more exciting is working together with Washougal to bring USAC-sanctioned racing back to the region in nearly 30 years. I think there is a ton of potential for Washougal venue to be a high-level UCI course in the future, and we are keen to work on that mission,” explains Kady.

If the Washougal name sounds familiar, it has been a stop on the AMA motocross circuit for decades and has recently hosted OBRA MTB and CX races. About 30 minutes from Portland, OR, the venue is tucked among rolling hills and pine trees near the Washington and Oregon border.
