Women’s outdoor brand reinforces its commitment to people and the planet

Sun Valley, ID (Jan. 17, 2023) - Wild Rye, leader in outdoor apparel made by and for women and women-identifying individuals, is proud to announce its status as a Certified B Corporation, a major accomplishment in upholding the brand’s mission to “protect the places we play” and elevating women. Wild Rye joins more than 6,000 other companies that prioritize making business a force for good, by meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance.

The brand’s quest to become a Certified B Corporation is a continuation of its efforts since day one; to give back to communities, use sustainable business practices, value employees, and minimize environmental impact. These companies are recognized for prioritizing people and the planet in all facets of their business from ideation to creation, and each member must pass a rigorous 360° business view to become part of the vetted community. Wild Rye is thrilled to be a part of the diverse network of similar-minded companies and all the opportunities for growth, learning, and giving back that await.

Cassie Abel, Wild Rye’s founder says “This certification is the culmination of years of dedicated hard work by our incredibly talented team, to showcase that aligning on the right side of both corporate responsibility, and history, is at the core of who Wild Rye is. We are thrilled to be a B Corp Certified brand and will aim to uphold these high standards in all that we do.”

Along this journey, Wild Rye has undertaken a number of other endeavors to further its dedication to social and environmental causes, successfully becoming a certified Climate Neutral company two years in a row and an official member of 1% for the Planet. Last year the sustainably-minded brand launched Wild Rye (redux), a brand-owned peer-to-peer re-commerce platform in order to extend the lifetime of products by giving customers an opportunity to resell their used gear, in partnership with Treet.

Along with environmental endeavors, Wild Rye is deeply dedicated to elevating women in the workspace. Wild Rye Founder, Cassie Abel, also founded Women-Led Wednesday, an annual shopping holiday created to encourage conscious consumerism in support of women-led brands. The 2022 installment and fifth anniversary of the holiday brought together more than 650 companies to promote women-led and women-founded brands in response to corporate entity, Black Friday.
