SRAM’s internal power meter recycling program was introduced in 2018 to repurpose mined and precious materials. Beginning in November 2022, SRAM has expanded the program to consumers. Participants will receive a 10% credit towards any new SRAM power meter.

SRAM will accept SRAM, Quarq, and PowerTap power meters, along with any competitors’ featuring aluminum crank arms or aluminum spider. The program is free, apart from the shipping. The 10% credit can only be applied to the purchase of one new complete power meter, including crankarms, chainring, and bottom bracket. For more information on the program, please visit their website

This is another small step towards more material circularity as products made from recycled materials require less energy to manufacture, are less dependent on fossil fuels, and reduce the need to mine materials. The program is currently available only in the US and Canada.

Consumers can follow the process online, contact SRAM directly at 1-800-660-6853, or email support@sram.com.
