Offering something for all abilities, Ned Gravel expands to include the new 107 mile Ultra Course
Boulder, Colo. (For Immediate Release): Ned Gravel, the first Colorado gravel bike race to proactively encourage diversity and inclusion on the starting line, is proud to announce registration for women and BIPOC athletes will open on February 1, 2022. Registration for everyone will open on February 8.
With race day scheduled for July 9, Ned Gravel returns with courses designed for everyone, from the 20 mile beginner-friendly Silver Course, to the more challenging 40 mile Gold and 60 mile Tungsten Courses, to the new 107 mile Ultra Course. A challenge for even the fittest of athletes, the new Ultra Course tops out at 10,500’ and includes over 13,000’ of climbing. All courses start in the eclectic mountain town of Nederland, Colorado.
"Our inaugural year was a huge success with a sell out field and incredible support from all of our sponsors and the town of Nederland,” says Gavin Coombs, Founder and Race Director for Ned Gravel. “We are so excited to bring Ned Gravel back in 2022 with a new course and even more fun. We can't wait to welcome you back for more mountain gravel!"
In addition to early registration, Ned Gravel is leveling the playing field for women and BIPOC athletes by offering equal prize money for women and providing several athletes of color with personalized coaching and some basic gear. Ned Gravel will also be hosting women led/women only clinics aimed at reducing barriers around things like riding in remote areas, on trail bike maintenance, and gravel specific skills.

Confirmed sponsors for the 2022 race include Cannondale, Hunt Wheels, VanDoIt, and CarboRocket. Check back soon as this list of sponsors grows in the coming months.
