Denver, CO (Dec 17th, 2019) - The Colorado Classic, the premier professional women's cycling race in North America, has named Thorpe Marketing as its public relations agency for 2020. Thorpe Marketing will also manage their social media and serve as marketing support and team liaison.

The Colorado Classic® presented by VF Corporation (Aug 27-30, 2020) is the only women's standalone UCI stage race in the Western hemisphere. Nearly 100 of the world's best racers from 16 teams will compete in the four-stage race over challenging iconic Colorado mountain and urban terrain. The race has earned the prestigious 2.1 classification by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and is part of the USA Cycling's Pro Road Tour.

"We are excited to partner with Thorpe Marketing for our 2020 communications and marketing strategy. They share our vision for elevating the sport of women's cycling and bring great experience and passion to our team," said Lucy Diaz, CEO of RPM Events Group.

More than a race, the Colorado Classic is a movement empowering women of all ages and abilities to transform their lives and the world through sports. The event is advancing women's pro cycling with a harder, longer race; unprecedented financial support; and daily live TV streaming coverage that puts women's racing on a global stage. In 2019 Thorpe Marketing aligned themselves with the race's mission early and supported RPM with content, team liaising, social media and live reporting. For 2020, Thorpe is excited to take on a bigger role.

"We're a Colorado-based agency made up of cycling and outdoor enthusiasts and former racers. To be part of the first women's-only Colorado Classic in 2019 was an honor. We fully align ourselves with RPM's mission to elevate women's rights in a broad sense, and women's sport and cycling more specifically. We continue to view this as not only an opportunity to promote the race itself but to showcase the incredible people and communities involved." - Jasen Thorpe, Founder, Thorpe Marketing.
