Some major changes will be made in the year 2019 when it comes to international exhibitions. The Taipei Show will be back in March, Eurobike is planning to return in the beginning of September, and Interbike is cancelled for the first time ever in the US. Not only do these alterations present challenges to the resilience of Taiwan’s bicycle industry, they also urge TBA to utilize more diverse strategies to elevate the image of the industry.

The organizer of the 7th Bike Expo New York had approached TBA last year and actively invited manufacturers from Taiwan to join the exhibition – the iconic B2C exhibition in the US. In light of the fact that the US is Taiwan’s second largest bicycle importer, and that the main attendees and professional cyclers are both upscale customers, the exhibitions will provide a great business opportunity for the industry.

“Smart Cycling” is the theme of the Taiwan pavilion this year. Not only does it promote excellent merchandises from Taiwan and the image of our bicycle industry, the “Smart” theme also encourages consumers to make purchases in a smarter way in order to experience a greater cycling journey with more comfort. Different from the previous way of attending exhibitions, Taiwanese bicycle manufacturers will create a joint exhibition this year in order to highlight their distinguishing characteristics and help create a deeper understanding of the industry for their visitors. Moreover, signages will be hung in the expo to increase exposure for the Taiwan pavilion.

TBA integrates multiple resources to promote the image of Taiwan’s bicycle industry at the Bike New York Expo, including the Tourism Bureau and TAITRA (Taiwan Trade Center, New York). A cocktail press conference will also be held on the first day of the expo (5/3) at 2 pm, with local distributors, dealers, clients and members of the media invited to attend. Furthermore, as social media marketing has become increasingly vital to the world, we have gotten an exclusive right to promote Taiwan’s bicycle industry and the attendees of the exhibition on Bike Expo New York’s official social media sites.

During the expo, we will demonstrate the competitive advantage of Taiwan’s bicycle industry by putting more emphasis on consumer bicycle components and gears in order to meet the general public’s demand. This will also be a great opportunity for those attending the TD Five Boro Bike Tour in New York to stock up on their gear before starting the tour. By joining the 2019 Bike Expo New York, we can expect to elevate the innovative image of Taiwan’s bicycle industry in the North American market and establish a foundation for trade for the new era of Taiwan’s E-bikes.
