Biking Holds Strong in Outdoor Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRAIN)—Biking (Road, Mountain and BMX) came in second to Running when measured by frequency of participation among adults (25-plus), according to the 2011 Outdoor Recreation Participation Top-line Report.

BMX actually came in second (48.8 percent) among youth participation right behind Kayaking (51.9 percent). Triathlon/Road came in third (39.5 percent).

BMX came in fifth in the five fastest growing activities since 2009.
