BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (BRAIN) — Erik's Bike Board and Ski is moving its headquarters from Bloomington to the Minneapolis University neighborhood this month.
The headquarters houses the retailer's corporate offices, warehouse and distribution center, and its bike assembly department. We will be moving to 550 Kasota Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN.
"We are looking forward to moving into our new warehouse in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The location is easily reached via mass transit and safe bike routes making employment at Erik's main headquarters even more accessible to the local community. Our new location will feature ample office space, a large bike assembly department, distribution center, and even a fun gravel bike trail right outside for employees to enjoy on their breaks!" said Erik Saltvold, the business's founder and owner, in a press release.
All Erik's stores are closed Monday, Nov. 9 and Tuesday, Nov. 10, reopening Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The new warehouse is over 100,000 square feet, nearly twice the size of the previous facility. It includes secure indoor bike parking and individual showers and lockers. A 215KW rooftop solar system is being installed, which will serve the majority of its electrical needs. LED lighting is used throughout to save energy.
Erik's has stores in seven states throughout the Midwest.
The new location is at 550 Kasota Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN.
