BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Quality Bicycle Products is now working with The Pro's Closet to make its Trade-Up used bike trade-in program available to all its dealers. The joint program will add 10 percent to the trade-in value of bikes when the credit is used to buy one of QBP's bike brands, Surly, Salsa, Civia or All-City, from an authorized dealer.
Travis Erwin, TPC's vice president of sales, said, "QBP has an explicit understanding of the challenges to the IBD market. They continue to explore innovative opportunities, tools, and programs to eliminate these obstacles. Trade-UP specifically focuses on IBD sales velocity and customer experience. Unlike algorithm-based programs, Trade-UP utilizes expert personnel that meticulously identify and evaluate componentry, brand equity, and current market conditions to provide a more comprehensive offer and improved conversion.
"Most importantly, the Trade-UP valuation is handled entirely by The Pro's Closet. We present a guaranteed offer to the dealer based on our expert assessment. We've learned that evaluation on a dealer level can sometimes cause friction with customers. This can erode trust, which not only impacts a potential sale, but could likely result in the loss of a customer altogether. We remove this tension and provide transparency as a third party expert."
QBP's VP of sales, Bill Schouman, said, "We are constantly looking at ways to bring differentiated value to our bike brand retail partners and we're thrilled to have the opportunity to work with The Pro's Closet on the Trade-UP Program. We see it removing a roadblock to a new bike sale while assuring that the retailer is able to monetize a trade-in immediately."
QBP has integrated TPC into the Dealer Resource section of its website.
