WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — About 324 5Color kids bike helmets sold online are being recalled because they lack mandatory safety standards and can fail to protect in the event of a crash.
No incidents nor injuries have been reported.
Consumers should stop using the helmets and contact 5Color for a refund after cutting the straps and emailing a photo of the helmet. The helmets were sold with a protective knee and elbow pad set, which is not included in the recall.
Only size small helmets are affected. The helmets are pink and fit a head circumference of about 18 to 22 inches, have black padding, straps, and a black fit-adjustment knob. "2026/03/20" are included in this recall. "Model No.: YD-001," "Lot/Ref: YD-260320" and "Date 2026/03/20" are printed on a label on the inside of the helmet and on the packaging.
The helmets were manufactured in China and sold on Amazon in May 2026 for between $25 and $26.
