WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a warning against using two helmet models from separate Chinese manufacturers because they violate mandatory standards and can fail to protect in the event of a crash. Both sellers have not agreed to a recall nor communicated a remedy.
Wisekiddy multi-purpose helmets
About 19,100 of these helmets sold by Guangzhoushi Aiselun Keji Youxiangongsi — doing business as Wisekiddy — are affected. The CPSC, which issued a Notice of Violation, recommends consumers cut the straps and dispose of the helmet. They were sold online at Amazon from October 2023 through April 2025 for between $27 and $35.
The helmets were sold in sizes small and medium and have a combined pink and purple color scheme, with black padding, black straps, and a black and red buckle. They have a red plastic knob to adjust fit.
The small helmets have the following model numbers printed on a label located inside of the helmets: HW0023-TIE-PIN, HW0023-TIE-BLA, HW0023-TIE-WHI, HW0022-CO-ZL, HW0022-CO-CH, 1906-005-S, 1906-020-S, 1906-034-S, 1906-035-S, and 1906-036-S.
The medium helmets have the following model numbers printed on a label located inside of the helmets: HW0023-TIE-PIN-M, HW0023-TIE-BLA-M, HW0023-TIE-WHI-M, HW0022-CO-ZLM, HW0022-CO-CH-M, 1906-005-M, 1906-020-M, 1906-034-M, 1906-035-M, and 1906-036-M.
The CPSC is aware that the helmets were also sold in other color schemes, including black, blue, pink, purple, pink/yellow/blue, pink/blue/yellow, purple/blue, and rainbow.

FunFitX toddler helmets
About 85 helmets are affected with the CPSC issuing a Notice of Violation to importer Hongkong Aak Trading Ltd. of China, and the ultimate consignee, Rugut Trading Inc. of Fontana, California.
The CPSC recommends consumers cut the straps and dispose of the helmet. They were sold online at Amazon from April 2025 through June 2025 in size extra-small. The helmets are baby blue and contain a sea life theme with red padding, black straps, and a black buckle with a red chin pad. They have a black plastic knob to adjust fit. The model number "SL712" is printed on a label located inside.
