Retrospec recalls some Beaumont Plus ST models for misaligned disc brake

Published June 13, 2024

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Retrospec is recalling some Beaumont Plus ST bikes because the front disc brake rotor and brake pads can be misaligned, posing a crash hazard.

About 530 bikes are affected. No incidents nor injuries have been reported. The bikes were sold in bluebell (blue), eggshell (white), or mint (green) colors. "Retrospec'' is printed on the frame, and the brand's "R" logo is on the fork. A silver label on the bottom bracket shell has "Retrospec, Made in Tianjin, China and batch: 12-15-2023".

The company is telling consumers to bring the bikes to an authorized dealer or where purchased for free installation of a new front fork. Retrospec can be reached toll-free at 888-488-2369 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday, or by email.

The bikes were sold at bike stores nationwide from February 2024 through March 2024 for about $400.
