WILTON, Conn. (BRAIN) — Cannondale issued a safety notice about the front fender and hardware on its Canvas Neo 1 and Canvas Neo 2 bicycles after receiving reports that the assembly can become detached.
The notice was issued after it was determined that the fender can create a fall and injury hazard. An improved attachment system is being designed and will require government approval, according to Cannondale.
For now, customers should remove the fender and hardware or take their bike to an authorized Cannondale dealer to have it done. Both Canvas models can be safely ridden after the fender is removed.
Customers who haven't already registered their bike should do so. Customers with registered bikes will be contacted to complete the recall and have an authorized Cannondale dealer reattached the fender at no charge.
