TAIPEI (BRAIN) — Taiwanese saddle maker Velo is showing off several new saddles and announcing some new OE resources at this month's Taipei Cycle Online trade show. The new saddles include two new models with an antibacterial treatment that might be just the thing for rental bikes.
Velo is offering its OEM catalog in digital format for the first time. The online catalog offers 360-degree product images to provide a browsing experience as if a customer were on-site at the Velo offices and is intended to help customers around the world make the most informed decisions, the company said. In addition to the two antibacterial saddle models (the PHAT O VL-6099E and the Pump OM VL-3147), Velo is introducing antibacterial handlebar tape treated to reduce the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli bacteria. the company said the same treatment could be used on its handlebar grips.
Other new additions include two new e-bike saddles, an eMTB-focused saddle (VL-3575) and one designed for more general e-bike use (VL-6535). Both e-bike saddles use Velo's AirForm padding and patented Atmos Shaping technology.
Finally, Velo is continuing the tradition of celebrating the Lunar New Year with a limited edition saddle. This year's Year of the Ox saddle cover features the year’s zodiac symbol and in inscription to "turn things around for the better," based on a traditional Chinese idiom.
