GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (BRAIN) — Event Gear, a new brand launched by industry veteran Eric Sampson, has released its MAX auto hitch rack system, which the company said are affordable, lightweight and easy to use.
The single-bike MAX rack base and a second-bike add-on, called the Max Plus, retail for $179 each. The MAX base carries one bike weighing up to 60 pounds. It can accommodate road, mountain, fat, and most e-bikes without modification.
The company said the racks have a low lift height, making it easier to get bikes on and off the vehicle. The one-bike MAX rack base weighs 19 pounds, making it easy to remove from the vehicle to store in the trunk or garage between uses or in the offseason.
The rack comes in a gloss black powder coat finish. Custom finishing, including the addition of team or shop name or logo, also is available.
The company also offers the MAX Stand, a repair stand module that plugs into the rack and includes a Park Tool workstand head. The Max Stand with the workstand head retails for $249.
