Giant, Merida, WTB and others win design and innovation awards at Taipei show

TAIPEI, Taiwan (BRAIN) — Organizers of the Taipei Cycle show on Tuesday announced winners of its annual d&i (design and innovation) awards.

The competition honors products in several categories; this year apps and other technology were eligible for a new IoT in the Cycling Industry Award, which was won by Zwift.

The award program is organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the Taiwan Bicycle Association. The competition is conducted by iF Design Asia.

Photos and descriptions of the Gold Medal winners are below. The award winners are on display at the show, which opens Wednesday.

  • Gold Medal Award: The competition jury said the Coast Cycles Buzzraw X "“An impressive ground-up design that results in a bike with a singular focus, having fun. Visually and functionally, the Buzzraw is surprising and the commitment to the execution required the engineering and manufacture of a substantial number of full custom components. The fork, rims, monster tires, saddle, and frame all had to be custom-made for this specific bike. "
